Ladies and gentlemen: My first knitting pattern in english!

Kender I siden Ravelry.com? Jeg er vild med den. Den er mest for strikkere/hæklere, så hvis du falder indenfor en af kategorierne synes jeg du skulle kigge derind. Du kan lave en profil, dele mønstre, inspiration, holde styr på dit garn, strikkepinde, hæklenåle og i det hele taget bare få timer til at gå med at glo på hvad andre laver.
Jeg har publiceret mønsteret på min sengetrøje derinde, og straks efter var der en der var interesseret - i en engelsk udgave! Englændere strikker helt anderledes end danskere, og deres strikkesprog er også en del anderledes. Og fagudtryk og forkortelser herfor er jo svære at oversætte. Meeen, jeg tog opgaven op.

You can also make it as a small cardigan or bolero.
Quick to knit on large needles!
Eventually sew on hook/eye or make button holes, as you go, on right-hand front edge.

Medium Size

Materials needed: 

-Circular needle 5,5 mm.. 60 or 80 cm long.

- Double pointed needles 5,5 mm
-Circa 1½ meter of pretty ribbon.
-3 skeins ”Alpaca” from drops (100% alpaca, 50 gr=180 mtr)
-3 skeins ”KidSilk” from drops (75% kidmohair, 25 % silk 25 gr=200 mtr)
Alpaca and kidmohair are to be knitted together.
If you choose another quality remember to purchase 540 metres!)
-Crochet needle 5 mm if you like.

Back and front:

Worked back and forth on circular needles from centre front.
Cast on 184 sts (incl. 5 sts for front edge on each side) on 2 needles (5,5 mm).
Knit 2 rows in garterstitch (1^st row= right side)
Work and repeat M.1 (4 rows in bottom of diagramme) Remember to knit the first 5 sts in garterstitch until garment is finished.
When work measures 11 waves (or your preferred length) – make sure that next row is the last of M.1 – put the work aside.

Sleeve:

Cast on 58 sts on 2 needles (5,5 mm)

Pull one needle out, place sts evenly on four double pointed needles.
Place a stitch marker (to mark under arm) and knit one round. (right side)

Purl one round.

Now work and repeat M.1.

When work measures 10 waves, make sure next row is the last row of M.1.
On last row, while knitting, place sts on needles like so: 7 sts on 1^st needle, 22 sts on 2^nd, 22 on 3^rd, 7 on 4^th.

Yoke: 
Take up front/back piece again. (Last row is the 3rd in M.1.)

Now you’re going to cast off body and sleeve together instead of sewing it afterwards!
Continue with last row of M.1. Work 41 sts, take up sleeve and set it in so stitch marker faces under arm on body piece. Make sure right side of body is facing right side of sleeve.
Join and cast off the 7 sts from sleeve needle together with the next 7 sts from front piece by knitting through both loops.
Purl one st from front/back piece.

Continue joining together and casting off from body and sleeve next 7 sts.
You have now casted off 15 sts.

Put work aside.

Knit another sleeve.

Take up front/back piece again, work over 72 stitches (the back of garment) and set in the other sleeve the same way as the first one.

Work over rest of sts.

Total sts = 242.

You’re now going to knit the M.2 diagramme. Remember to work the 5 first sts on every row in garter stitch
You can now knit the whole bunch on your circular needle!
When M.2 is completed you have 130 sts on needle.
Knit the upper 4 rows of M.2. again.

Neckband with 18 holes for ribbon:
I’m suggesting double yarnovers (dbl yo)  to make the holes for ribbon bigger.
When doing double yarnovers, you should only knit the first loop on next row; the other (extra) loop is let dropped.

Knit the first 3 rows in garterstitch. Decrease one random sts on last row = 129 sts.

4^th row: k5 *dbl yo, k7*, repeat *-* 17 times, dbl yo, k5.

5^th row: k8, *slip one st as if to knit, knit two together, pull over the loose st, k5* repeat *-* 16 times, k3.

6^th row: k17, *k two together, k4* repeat *-* 14 times, knit rest of sts.
7^th row: knit

8^th row: knit

9th row: cast off loosely

Edging:
My cast-on edge was a bit uneven, so I added a bit of nice, even edging with a row of  alternately single crochet and chain stitches all the way across bottom edges.

For the neck band I worked a row of single crochets from the wrong side.
I’m not an experienced crocheter so if you have ideas for a more decorative edging, please comment!

Finish:
Tie off loose ends, hand wash and dry flat.

Lace up with ribbon and melt raw edges over a candle (if acrylic) so it won’t come undone.
